Appleby Partner Simon Raftopoulos has received the Lee A. Freeman award for volunteering his legal services to the local community, as part of the Family Resource Centre’s Legal Befrienders program.
This year marks Mr. Raftopoulos’s 10-year anniversary as a volunteer of the Legal Befriender’s service.
Charmaine Miller of the Family Resource Centre said. “Through his work with clients, Simon has demonstrated continuous dedication, compassion and flexibility. Simon has also shown commitment in the growth of the Legal Befrienders team by referring a number of lawyers to join our team, which has increased our pool of volunteers.”
Mr. Raftopoulos, who is a Partner in the law firm’s Cayman Corporate team, said: “The FRC and its dedicated staff should be getting this award themselves. It is both a privilege and extremely humbling to be involved with such a tremendous organization whose daily contribution to the local community should be recognized and applauded.”
